Applicants for admission to the HKUST MSGO program are expected to have the following credentials:
1. Satisfactory Undergraduate Degree
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with satisfactory academic performance from a university or a recognized institution.
Students are recommended with basic quantitative knowledge in the area of Additional Maths, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Quantitative Methods, and Statistics, etc.
2. English Proficiency
A satisfactory TOEFL or IELTS score is required for applicants whose first language is not English or whose bachelor’s degree was awarded by an institution where the medium of instruction is not English.
Applicants have to fulfill English Language requirements with one of the following proficiency attainments:
TOEFL - Internet-based Test (iBT): 80*
TOEFL - Paper-based Test (pBT): 550
TOEFL - Revised Paper-delivered Test: 60 (total scores for Reading, Listening and Writing sections)
IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score: 6.5 and all sub-score: 5.5*
*Refers to scores in one single attempt only. Test at home option is not accepted.
3. GMAT/GRE
Applicants are highly recommended to have a satisfactory GMAT/GRE score. A GMAT/GRE score is not compulsory but will be taken into consideration.
4. Relevant Work Experience
No minimum work experience is required. However, any relevant work or business experience will add weight to the application.
